A Competence Centre in Greece for Industry 4.0
SURE is a Competence Centre for a Sustainable and Resilient Built Environment using Smart Technologies. SURE is an independent entity, a reference center for the provision of consulting services, state-of-the-art technology tools, training, dissemination of knowledge and promotion of innovative practices to enterprises and stakeholders on issues related to digitalization, structural safety, energy efficiency and life cycle of structures.
SURE provides a wide range of knowledge and guidance on best practice, linking research with entrepreneurship to develop and implement innovative services and products towards the path of Industry 4.0.
SURE is hosted within the building facilities of the University of Western Macedonia with spaces for co-working, meetings, dedicated desk spaces and training classrooms.
The degree of innovation of SURE is high and is located in the contribution to the integration of cutting-edge technologies aimed at the digital upgrade and modernisation of the construction industry (BIM technologies, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things) as well as the environmental approach to design and the evaluation of the structured environment and the development of primary research that can be directly utilised by companies, emphasizing on training, specialisation and skill improvement.
SURE is the technical partner for businesses willing to manage innovation activities, technological transfer, applied research, and direct assistance to implement 4.0 tools. It also helps them reshape their organizational, business, and strategical models to keep high competitiveness.
